Seminar explores child sex trafficking problem

Members of the community are invited to attend a free presentation Oct. 7 on child sex trafficking and Internet dangers.

“Deceptions — Exposing the Lures of Child Sex Trafficking and Internet Dangers,” will feature local law enforcement and other speakers who will provide information about the scope of sex trafficking, the “grooming process,” youth prevention programs and recognizing the dangers of new technology.

Speakers include Matt Dale, director of the Montana Department of Justice’s Office of Victim Services; Det. Sgt. Jeannie Parker of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force; Kalispell Police Officer Cory Clarke, the Flathead High School resource officer; and David Nabors, inservice facilitator at the Oregon-based Northwest Family Services.

The event, hosted by Northwest Family Services and Kalispell Public Schools, will be at 7 p.m. Oct. 7 in the Glacier High School Auditorium.
