Round 2: Flathead vs. Glacier in soccer

It’s the second time around for crosstown soccer today, this time with matches at Kidsports Complex.

The Flathead and Glacier boys get things started at 10 a.m. with the Bravettes and Wolfpack girls to follow at noon.

Glacier swept the first round of the annual series by 1-0 scores back on Sept. 4 at Glacier High School.

Olivia Malchi scored in the 67th minute for Glacier’s girls.

Colton Becker nailed the winning goal in the 53rd minute for the Glacier boys.

The Glacier boys enter this match with a 4-1-3 mark. They have scored 17 goals while allowing 13.

The Wolfpack tied Missoula Big Sky on Thursday in Missoula 3-3.

This is the lone outing this week for Flathead, which enters with a 1-6-0 mark. The Braves have allowed 22 goals while scoring just six.

The Flathead girls carry a 3-2-2 mark into the crosstown match. The Bravettes have scored seven goals this fall, while allowing six.

The Glacier girls are coming off a 3-2 victory over Big Sky in Missoula on Thursday. The Wolfpack, now 2-3-3, have scored nine goals while allowing 10.

Flathead has four league games remaining on the schedule, with three of those at home. The Braves and Bravettes travel to Missoula Sentinel on Tuesday.

Glacier has three league matches left, all at home. The next outing for the Wolfpack is versus Missoula Hellgate on Oct. 11.

The state play-in matches take place Oct. 21-25 followed by the state tournament in Great Falls Oct. 30-Nov. 1.
