Football roundup: Bulldogs blank Polson

POLSON — Luke May passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Whitefish beat Polson 28-0 on Friday in Northwestern A football play.

May hit Jack Streibich and Jed Nagler on short TD passes of 8 and 4 yards in the opening half. His touchdown run covered 68 yards in the fourth quarter.

Tyler Cote also scored on a 3-yard run for.

May was 13 of 19 passing for 154 yards and was intercepted once.

Nagler had five receptions for 113 yards and Chris Park led the ground attack with 102 yards on 12 carries.

Whitefish (4-2, 2-0 league) rolled up 258 yards rushing on 35 attempts.

Polson (1-5, 0-2) finished with 129 yards rushing on 36 tries and was 6 of 15 passing for 43 yards.

Whitefish hosts Livingston on Friday while Polson travels to Libby.

Frenchtown 60, Libby 0

LIBBY — Gus Butler rushed for 164 yards on just seven attempts and scored three touchdowns to power Frenchtown to an easy Northwestern A victory.

Butler had TD runs of 20, 63 and 52 yards.

Frenchtown (3-3, 2-0) led 32-0 at the half.

Frenchtown had 318 yards in total offense to 114 for Libby. Frenchtown rushed for 233.

Libby (2-4, 0-1) lost two fumbles and threw two interceptions.

Dom Voorhies was 5 of 15 passing for Libby for 54 yards. He threw one pick.

Zach Crace was Libby’s leading rusher with 50 yards on 16 attempts.

Libby’s Erik Lauer had two receptions for 27 yards and Isaak Jones had two for 26.

Libby hosts Polson on Friday.

Loyola 44, Eureka 6

MISSOULA — Kellen Round passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Missoula Loyola thumped Eureka in a Class B matchup.

Austyn Sherwood scored on a 1-yard run for Eureka in the opening quarter as the Lions trailed 7-6, but it was all Loyola after that.

Loyola led 23-6 at halftime and scored in every quarter.

Danner Linhart had TD receptions of 8 and 24 yards from Round.

Stephen Sellman had touchdown runs of 14 and 12 yards in the second half for Loyola.

Eureka travels to Troy next Friday for a District 7B contest.

TROY — Vinny Quirk had two touchdown runs and Jonathan Landon two touchdown receptions in a 34-point second quarter as 10th-ranked Bigfork rolled past Troy in District 7B action.

Quirk’s scoring runs were from 1 and 3 yards. He had 105 yards on the night on 15 totes.

Landon’s TD receptions covered 65 and 11 yards.

Bigfork quarterback Josh Sandry was 10 of 18 passing for 235 yards.

Bigfork (4-1, 1-0 league) hosts Plains next Friday.
