Louise Filamena (Albina) Herrman, 88

| October 4, 2014 5:43 PM

Louise Filamena (Albina) Herrman passed away quietly in her sleep Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, at Brendan House in Kalispell. She was surrounded by her children as she passed out of this life “and into her new one with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Louise was born in the Bronx, New York City, in 1925. When she was 11 years of age she moved to South Jersey with her parents and brothers.

In 1946, she met the love of her life Ira C. “Mickey” Herrman at the Phil Nutt dance studio where dances were held every Monday night. After four years of dancing, Mickey convinced Louise to marry him, and they wed in 1950, and produced four children, Christine, Kathleen, Dennis and Nancy. We grew up in a very loving and happy home in South Jersey. Louise was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

In 1975, Mickey and Louise moved to Alaska. They and their family resided there for the next 30-plus years. Louise was widowed in 2003.

In 2007 she moved to Kalispell, where she resided until her death.

Louise was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Charles “Mickey” Herrman; her daughter, Nancy Gail Herrman; parents, Louis and Hilda Albina; and her brothers, Arthur Knudsen, Harry Knudsen, and Charles Albina.

She is survived by her three children, daughter, Christine and her husband Darrell Vance of Kalispell, daughter, Kathleen Maccri of Fairbanks, Alaska, and son, Dennis Herrman and wife Tammy of Virginia Beach, Va. Also, her six grandchildren, Michael Ruhl and wife Rebecca of Griffen, Ga, Steven Ruhl and wife Keri of Oklahoma City, Okla; Kimberly Murray, Jesse Herrman and Adrian Maccri, all of Fairbanks, and James Vance and wife Holly, of Philomath, Ore; 13 great-grandchildren, with one more on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Louise will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. Burial will follow at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery. The children of Louise would like to invite family and friends to gather at Sykes Restaurant, 202 Second Ave., in Kalispell, in the banquet room downstairs for a potluck luncheon.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for Louise’s family. You are invited to go to www.jgfuneralhome.com to view Louise’s guest book, offer condolences and share memories.
