Jonathan Doyle 'JD' Walker, 44
United States Army Major Jonathan Doyle “JD” Walker, 44, of Vass, N.C.. passed away on Oct. 1, 2014, in Doha, Qatar, while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom. This was Maj. Walker's ninth deployment.
He was born on Aug. 31, 1970, in Kansas City, Mo., to Terry Jay Walker and Margaret Patricia Doyle.
Maj. Walker was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and was assigned to the 4th POG (A), 1st Special Forces Command.
He is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Kelly Walker; two children, Jacob Walker and Peyton Walker; mother, Pat Doyle; father, Terry Walker and Joanne; and sister, Amy Deitrick and Lance.
Maj. Walker will return to Moore County Airport in Carthage on Sunday with an honor guard to escort him from the plane. Services will be private for immediate family.
