Hockey: Wolverines fall late to Seattle 6-5

WHITEFISH — Seattle scored three goals in the final three minutes of regulation to erase a two-goal Whitefish lead and deny the Wolverines their first home victory, the Totems winning 6-5 in a Western States Hockey League game on Friday at Stumptown Ice Den.

August Cnattingius scored the winning goal for Seattle with less than a mintue to play, adding to a pair of assists earlier in the game. The Totems evened the score on power play goals 22 seconds apart earlier in the period.

Kieffer Helbing scored a pair of goals in the second to give Whitefish a lead and assisted on a power play goal by Danny Roe five minutes into the third period to give the Wolverines a 5-3 advantage on the scoreboard. Aleksei Garin and Stosh Mroz scored for Whitefish in the first period.

The Wolverines continue the three-game set with the Totems tonight at 7:05 p.m. at Stumptown Ice Den.
