Wolfpack undefeated at Missoula Invitational volleyball
MISSOULA — Three Flathead Valley volleyball teams battled through a demanding schedule to advance to the championship bracket at the Missoula Invitational on Friday.
Playing seven two-set matches, the Glacier Wolfpack never dropped a set, finishing pool play a perfect 14-0 to capture the second seed in the championship bracket behind Helena Capital.
“I thought the day went really well,” Wolfpack coach Christy Harkins said.
“The girls played consistently at a high level. They were aggressive serving, they were aggressive offensively at the net. I was proud of their effort today.”
The Flathead Bravettes went 11-3. They’ll take on Helena today at 10 a.m.
The Columbia Falls Wildkats were one of three teams to finish 5-9, but tie-breaking criteria sent them into the championship bracket. The Wildkats will take on Glacier at 10 a.m.
Whitefish and Polson finished 3-11 and Libby came in at 2-12. They will compete in consolation play. Libby will face Frenchtown at 9 a.m. Whitefish takes on Great Falls at 10, and Polson will challenge Missoula Big Sky at 10.
