Complaints raised about dump trucks

The Whitefish Police Department took a call from concerned citizens on Karrow Avenue complaining about construction dump trucks going way too fast down the road.

A cab driver on Central Avenue called police after a client fell asleep in the back of his vehicle and was refusing to pay his fare. A friend of the intoxicated, sleeping man was found. He agreed to pay his friend’s fare and get him home.


The Columbia Falls Police Department took a call from a man on Sixth Street West who claimed a man who had previously assaulted him had “flipped him off” in the parking lot. He was afraid the man was going to assault him again.

An upset boyfriend called police to report his girlfriend, whom he was fighting with, had sent him Facebook messages that were a “bunch of lies.” He wanted to know if he could use a polygraph machine to prove to his girlfriend he was telling the truth.

A woman called about her ex-boyfriend was harassing her and calling her repeatedly. The two were advised to continue with their custody issues in court.

A car was driving dangerously and erratically on Nucleus Avenue, causing several crashes, including one on the highway. The driver ultimately crashed behind a motel. Medical was sent to the scene of both crashes and the driver was arrested.


The Whitefish Fire Department responded to a vehicle fire on Twin Bridges Road at 10:30 a.m.


The Ronan Police Department made an arrest for criminal contempt after receiving a call about suspicious activity in the Ronan City park.
