A goal by Andrew Frank in the 38th minute allowed Helena High to slip past Glacier 1-0 on Thursday in Western AA soccer action at Glacier High School.

Helena had 15 shots on goal to 11 for the Wolfpack.

Glacier led 5-3 in corner kicks.

Glacier beat Helena an an earlier matchup 4-2. The Wolfpack trailed 2-0 at halftime in that one.

“We were hoping for a repeat performance,” Glacier coach Ryan Billiet said.

“They played well defensively on us.”

Glacier had its chances, but was just off the mark.

“One off the post in the first 10 minutes, one off the crossbar late,” Billiet said.

“Their keeper (Josh Noem) made a few good saves, likewise with Ryker (McIntyre). He kept us in the game.”

Glacier (6-4-3 overall, 4-4-3 league) concludes regular-season action today versus Helena Capital at Glacier at 10 a.m. Those two teams battled to a scoreless time the first time around.
