Larry Alan Lucas, 60

Larry Alan Lucas, 60, died Oct. 10, 2014 in Kalispell of aspiration pneumonia.

He was born July 19, 1954, in San Diego, and was raised in Missoula.

He had been a consumer for Flathead Industries.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Florence L. Lucas; father, Richard D. Lucas; and grandparents, aunts and uncles on both sides.

He is survived by his sister, Sharon Slattery; brothers, Roger D. Lucas, and Eric D. Lucas; nephew, Bryce R. Lawson and spouse; and nieces, Chelsea, Krystal and Cheryl.

Down syndrome prevented Larry from attending school but not from working. He worked at Opportunity Industries in Missoula until moving to Kalispell in 1994, where he joined the Flathead Industries. He worked within the recycling plant until that part closed. Staying on, he worked at the Production Center doing various jobs.

Music from the 1950s and 1960s and John Denver music were Larry’s passions. He loved colorful ribbons and strings. His love for horses was enjoyed at “Sam’s Riders,” part of Human Therapy on Horseback.

Cremation and burial will take place in Missoula.

A memorial potluck wake will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Flathead Industries Production Center, 66 Fourth Ave. W.N., in Kalispell.
