A Browning man accused of beating his girlfriend unconscious and then dragging her out of the street has changed his plea to guilty.

Calvin Spotted Eagle, 39, initially pleaded not guilty to felony partner or family member assault. He changed his plea Oct. 2 in Flathead County District Court.

Court documents state that Spotted Eagle and his girlfriend were arguing in downtown Kalispell on Aug. 27 and that Spotted Eagle began pushing and hitting her.

She fell to the ground, hitting her head on the pavement, which knocked her out. A witness said Spotted Eagle dragged his girlfriend off the street.

Spotted Eagle’s sentencing is Dec. 19.
