Stillwater in state soccer semifinals

BOZEMAN  — Stillwater Christian School was in an offensive mode, scoring five goals in each half in blasting Foothills Christian School 10-2 on Thursday in first-day action at the Montana Christian Athletic Association state boys soccer tournament.

Joe King had a stellar day with four goals and two assists. Jarrett Danz and Hansen Eystad scored two goals each.

“A good day for the guys,” Stillwater coach Ryan O’Rourke said.

“We started out a little slow, but we got into the game, picked up the tempo and started to click offensively.”

The victory advances Stillwater (9-3-1) to semifinal action today at 12:30 p.m. Stillwater will face Heritage Christian School, which beat Helena Christian School 7-1 on Thursday.

Stillwater is seeking its 12th straight state championship.
