Job seekers can easily search for full-time, part-time or holiday positions at a job fair on Wednesday, Oct. 29.

The job fair put on by Flathead Job Service will be from 4 to 7 p.m. at Kalispell Center Mall.

The fair will offer a variety of positions from over 30 local companies involving jobs in retail, health care, business management and food service, among others.

Several companies will seek to fill permanent positions with benefits, but most are looking for extra part-time help during the holiday season.

Job-seekers should attend ready to participate in job interviews, according to Flathead Job Service Supervisor Laura Gardner.

“It’s best if they show up with their resume prepared,” Gardner said. “They should also do some research on the company they’re interested in, and become familiar with any company they would like to apply for.”

Gardner said each job-seekers should prepare a 20-second “elevator speech.” This speech should “sell” the job seeker and his or her skill set to potential employers, and would cover basics in the same amount of time as an elevator ride.

Business registered for the job fair include A Plus Health Care, Best Buy, Blacktail Ski Mountain, Calm Animal Care

, Community Supervision Alternatives, Costco Warehouse Demonstrators, Express Professionals, Flathead County 911 Center, Flathead Job Service, Flathead Valley Community College, Glacier Jet, Herberger’s, Harlow Bus Services, JCPenney, Kalispell Regional Medical Center, LC Staffing, Murphy’s State Liquor & Wine, National Guard, North Valley Hospital, Payless Shoes, Plum Creek, Proof Research, Red Lion, Resurrected Blessings, Salvation Army, School District #5, Sliters Hardware, Star West Satellite, Stellar Recovery, Super 1 Foods, Taco Bell, Target, TeleTech, The Home Depot, The Zone Family Fun Center, Verizon Wireless, Walmart, Wells Fargo, Western Montana Mental Health Center, Whitefish Center-Genesis Healthcare, Whitefish Lake Lodge and Whitefish Ski Mountain.

Gardner said the fair is overbooked and organizers are rearranging booths to fit all the employers.
