Hulda Farley Francis, 95

Hulda Farley Francis, 95, passed away Oct. 25, 2014, at Mountain View Manor in Eureka.

She was born Dec. 24, 1918, in Conrad; she was the daughter of Henry and Anna Lozing of Cut Bank, and was the second youngest of eight siblings. Her sisters were Pauline and Ella — twins, Madeline, Hannah, Edith “Ida” and Louise. Her only brother was named Gilbert. All preceded her in death.

Hulda married Walter Ray Farley of Trego on June 17, 1936. The couple had three children whom they raised on the family homestead.

After moving to Whitefish in 1960, Hulda worked for the public school system for nearly 25 years. In 1985 she married Lee Francis of Columbia Falls. They resided in Whitefish until Lee’s death in 2009.

Survivors include daughter, Shirley Farley, of Kalispell; daughter and son-in-law, Joann and Jesse Waters, of Fortine; and son and daughter-in-law, William and Sharon Farley, of Toccoa, Ga.; six grandchildren and spouses, Daniel and Janice Waters of Kalispell, John and Patty Waters of Kalispell, David and Roberta Waters of Fortine, Phillip and Lu Ann Waters of Salt Lake City, Deborah and Devon Marsh of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Douglas and Christina Farley of Clermont, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Andrea Waters, Ian Waters, Jenny Waters, Stephen Waters, David Richard Waters, Desiree Waters, Danielle Waters, Sadi Waters, Will Marsh, Annelise Marsh, Maclean Marsh, Caleb Farley and Lucas Farley; great-great-grandchildren, Anita Faith Hoffman, Mary Jane Hoffman and Scott Waters.

Funeral services for Hulda will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, at Austin Funeral Home. There will be a visitation for Hulda one hour prior to services on Thursday. Burial will follow services at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
