N.J. man makes it clear: He's no Godfather
A man called Whitefish Police Department from U.S. 93 South to advise them that, although he is from New Jersey, he is not part of the Mafia.
It was a stinky situation on West Sixth Street when a man accidentally dialed 911 after he stepped in dog poop and threw his phone.
Police responded to a call from U.S. 93 South about a stranded vehicle in the middle of the road that didn’t have its flashers on. A woman driver was reported to be on the phone. A tow truck in the area eventually removed the vehicle.
A woman on West Fourth Street reported that she received a phone call from a rude man with a “thick foreign accent,” who advised her she was being audited by the IRS and that she felt it was a scam. Police determined the phone number provided was part of a phone scam and to call if she received another call.
Someone on West Seventh Street said a very large white dog keeps barking. Police received a later report that a medium-sized white poodle — possibly the same dog — was running loose on the street.
An upset mother called from out-of-state to request her son be removed from a Lupfer Avenue apartment after her sister went to check on the residence. The son was reportedly “very rude,” and slammed the door in her sister’s face and was allegedly believed to be smoking marijuana.
Columbia Falls Police Department received a report from a Nucleus Avenue business owner that a pink bear had been stolen from the roof of the building.
Cricket, a reddish and white basset mix, was reported missing on First Avenue West after running away.
Kalispell Police Department received a report from someone on First Avenue East North who said he or she confronted a woman who allegedly left several children under the age of 5 in an unattended vehicle, stating it was illegal. The person added that the woman parked in a handicapped spot “and she knows she is not handicapped.”
A man said three dogs were digging through trash on Ninth Avenue West and when he went to take his trash out, one of them lunged at him.
Someone on U.S. 2 West reported being hit by a woman.
An ornery woman was sent out of a North Main Street business after cursing at staff and “causing issues.”
Creston Fire Department responded to a brush fire on Foothill Trail in Kalispell.
Bad Rock Fire Department responded to a power line emergency on Elk Park Road in Columbia Falls.
