Volleyball: Polson downs Stevi

POLSON — Polson had three players total double figures in kills and Jaiden Toth led in assists (48) and digs (24) as the Pirates topped Stevensville 25-19, 25-18, 19-25, 25-17 on Thursday in a Class A nonconference volleyball match.

Haley Fyant had 20 kills for Polson with Nicole Lake and Toth next with 11 each.

Polson totaled 61 kills to 26 for Stevensville.

“There was a lot of emotion, but my seniors played a great match,” Polson coach Jan Toth.

“It was fun to watch, for them to be able to play the game, laugh, be comfortable and be very competitive.”

Since this was the last home match of the regular season, the team’s seven seniors were honored and played most of the way. The seniors — Skyla Krantz, Jaiden Toth, Taylor Brackey, Taylor Davis, Taylor Rost, Sarah Rausch and Libby Clay.

Polson wraps up regular-season play on Saturday with a Northwestern A match at Libby.

The Northwestern A divisional follows Nov. 7-8 in Libby.

Frenchtown 3, Whitefish 0

FRENCHTOWN — Frenchtown dominated the statistics and the scoring to claim the Northwestern A victory.

Allie Schulz had six kills to lead Whitefish in that area. Morgan Ray had 10 kills for Frenchtown.

Whitefish ends regular-season play at Columbia Falls on Saturday at 7 p.m.
