Several Kalispell streets remain closed or restricted due to construction work:

Ninth Street East is closed due to a storm-water improvement project at Fourth Avenue East.

While the project is underway, Hedges Elementary School students are to be dropped off at Fourth Avenue East and Eighth Street East between 8 and 9 a.m. and picked up at the same vicinity between 3 and 4 p.m.

Local access to homes and businesses will be preserved during construction.

Commuter and nonessential traffic is asked to take alternate routes around the work zone.

The Fourth Avenue East North Water System Improvement Project is scheduled to last through September.

The work zone covers portions of Fourth Avenue East North from Idaho Street to East Oregon Street.

Local access to residents will be preserved during construction but other motorists should detour around the work zone on Third Avenue East North.

For more information, call Paveco at 752-0051.

Starting Monday, Sept. 8, the Kalispell Street Division will begin asphalt overlay operations on 18th Street East from U.S. 93 to Third Avenue East.

The project will continue through Wednesday, Sept. 10 (weather permitting).

Both lanes will be closed to traffic and there will be minimal local access.

Motorists are advised to use alternate routes while the paving project is underway.

Contact the Kalispell Public Works Department at 758-7720 with questions or concerns.
