Can global mentors really bring terrorists back from brink?

For those who did not have the opportunity to read Bob McClellan’s latest rantings in the local newspapers, please allow me to fill you in on the highlights.

First of all Bob blames G.W. Bush and the invasion of Iraq that he says fueled the flames of terrorism in the Middle East and that the present state in Iraq is proof of his statement.

Would someone please tell Bob that we had won that war and pretty well stabilized the country until his hero, Obama, pulled out all our troops, leaving the Iraqi people, who were not yet ready, to fend for themselves against the terrorist invasion that everyone knew was coming.

Also Bob presents the brilliant idea that bombing these killers is not the answer but instead we need to form an International Terrorist Elimination Movement and will meet and mentor these troubled and vulnerable nations leaders. This group would help give hope, switch attitudes and behaviors, and change the world’s thinking from fear to a clear vision for peace and prosperity for all. WOW, what a great idea — sounds like Obama on his first speeches when he stated that rather than challenge the evil regimes, he would  sit down, have a friendly chat and convince them that we are are all citizens of the world and therefore everyone should lay down their arms and embrace each other. That is working so well with Iran, North Korea and Russia to name just a few.

Mr. McClellan, I have a much more brilliant idea; You go drag your buddy Obama off the golf course and I will raise the funds to send both of you over to meet the leaders of ISIS. There you can sit down and chat and explain that beheading Mr. Foley, butchering thousands of Christians, Jews, and fellow Muslims is not very nice and would they please lay down their arms and go home to the wife and family.

By the way, you two have to pay your way back. â€”Martin R. Tetachuk, Rollins
