One last blast against Fox News

I want to thank Jerry Molen for his (lengthy) letter of Aug. 24 and Robert Smith for his letter of August 22. You made my point about “Fox followers” — long on rhetoric and short on the truth!

Since Mr. Molen asked about the Clinton years, I will be glad to respond since we’ve seen this movie before. I was still, at that time, getting my “daily dose” from the big three at Fox. It was during this time that I saw the “distrust of government” rhetoric turn to “hate government,” but it was directed at President Clinton and the Democrats — never at Republicans (unless they were labeled as a RINO).

The result was that the country gave us a Republican president (by the grace of the Supreme Court) and a Republican Senate and House for six years (we all know how that worked out!). Miraculously, the “hate rhetoric” disappeared from Fox during those years. Then, two years later the country gave us an African-American Democrat president and the “hate rhetoric” on Fox surfaced with a vengeance. So, gentlemen, “if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck...” —Wes Higgins, Kalispell
