Rental truck returned with blood, hair

A truck rental company told the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office it had received a truck back that had blood and hair in it. Officers were called to the U.S. 93 South location to determine if it was human blood and hair or if it was from an animal. Officers said it was likely a dog, as there were saliva marks on the window as if the dog had been pushing its face against the glass. 

A Coram business wanted a customer removed Monday afternoon because he “bothers the employees and pees on the building.” 

A man called to report that his wife had been receiving pornographic pictures on her cell phone. 

A horse was seen roaming on Lone Pine Road early Monday morning. 

A reckless driver almost caused three accidents by driving “everywhere besides her lane” on Montana 35 near Bigfork on Monday morning. 

Loose cattle were reported on Ramsfield Road. 

A man called to say that his brand new longboard had been stolen. 

A woman arrived at her Martin City home to find a side door open but still locked. Nothing was taken from the home. 

A man called from South Hilltop Road to report his window had been shot out, possibly by a BB gun. He wasn’t sure when it happened. 

Someone appears to be squatting at a construction site on First Avenue East in Kalispell. Workers found a mattress pad, beer and a sleeping bag in some of the air and heating ducts. 

An elderly woman accidentally called 911 and said she was “terribly sorry” before hanging up. 

A civil issue required police intervention when a man threatened to throw all of his ex-girlfriend’s belongings in the garbage Monday morning near West Glacier. 

Two men were in a disagreement over an elk head at a taxidermy shop on U.S. 2 West. 

Someone broke into a vehicle by throwing a rock into the windshield in Hungry Horse. The only thing taken from the car was a can of bear spray. 

Columbia Falls Police took a disorderly first-grader to the hospital on Monday morning. 

A vehicle was burglarized on U.S. 2 East. A .44 Magnum pistol, two boxes of ammunition, change from the ashtray, and the man’s checkbook were stolen. The vehicle was unlocked. 

A woman driving a semi hit a gas pump on Ninth Street West, causing substantial damage. 

An honest citizen found an envelope containing $597 in cash under a table at a local restaurant and turned it in to the Whitefish Police Department on Monday. Take note, ye cynics and followers of Diogenes!

A licensed marijuana distributor reported eight ounces of pot had been stolen from her facility. 

A black bear was spotted on Wisconsin Avenue on Monday morning. 

A woman had trouble with transients Monday afternoon on U.S. 93 South when she asked them to move along and one of the men slapped her. The woman didn’t want to press charges. 

A dark maroon vehicle was seen on East First Street with a large gun pointing out the window at pedestrians and passersby. 

Someone broke into a woman’s vehicle on Lupfer Avenue, but didn’t steal anything. Instead, they left behind some items of their own, including a sweatshirt, flask, and an ID card. 

A fake $100 bill was used at a U.S. 93 South business Monday night. The man who had used the bill later called police to let them know it was him. No explanation for the change of heart.

Kalispell Police were notified when a bike was stolen from Fourth Avenue West North. The caller stated he had a video of the theft. 

An employee at a pharmacy called police when it appeared that a man had altered his prescription for anxiety medication. 

A rented breast pump was reported stolen from First Avenue West. The breast pump is valued at $300. 

Two men were seen fist-fighting on First Avenue West on Monday. 

A woman called from Aurich Avenue on Monday night because she thought she heard someone in the bushes outside of her house. Officers took a look, and didn’t see anyone or any animals. 

A very upset woman called from Liberty Street saying that she had been “condemned to $200 a month for Social Security.” She also said that she had signed a money order and now the signature was gone, and that someone had stolen her phone and “scratched all the numbers off.” 

A water line break occurred Tuesday on U.S. 93 north of Whitefish near the golf course, according to Schellinger Construction. The break occurred when crews hit a water line that was not located on current utility maps. Grouse Mountain Lodge is experiencing a water outage and crews are working to build a new water line to restore service as soon as possible. In order to complete the work, traffic in the area was down to one lane through Tuesday night, possibly continuing today.
