Prank 911 call not funny for police

 A prankster used his classmate’s phone during class to call 911 on Friday morning. Kalispell Police called the girl back, who stated her friend had called as a joke. She was advised about the proper use of 911 and being responsible for her phone.

A two-car accident on South Main Street and East Center Street on Thursday left one woman crying and begging the caller to let her leave before police arrived.

A grandmother called police from a location on U.S. 93 South saying that her 2-year-old grandson keeps falling asleep. She wasn’t sure if he was just trying to take a nap or not. Police helped the family get the child back to his mother.

A woman threatened to beat up another woman with her cane Thursday on First Avenue West.

Police received a report from a hotel on U.S. 93 South of a man attempting to lure little girls into his room with candy. Police found that all the information they received was third-hand and were unable to locate any suspicious men.

Another call came in from a hotel on U.S. 93 South where a man was reportedly going room to room trying to sell prescription painkillers.

A couple reported receiving threats from a man via Facebook.

Windows were busted out and a door was broken in at a South Meridian Road business.

A woman calling from Second Avenue West said she was receiving “really weird phone calls.”

The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office received a call Thursday morning about cows grazing on a man’s property off of Forest Hill Road near Kalispell. The man said the cows have been grazing on his land but they have been out of hay for about three days.

A dead colt was found on the side of Farm to Market Road in Kalispell.

A member of a local Parents and Teachers Association reported stolen checks from the department’s fund.

A loose pig was running around and getting into the neighbor’s garbage on U.S. 2 West in Kalispell on Wednesday.

Columbia Falls Police received a report from a man Thursday who said he paid for a car he found on Craigslist only to find that the car didn’t exist.

Just before 4 p.m. Friday, a pickup and a four-wheeler collided on U.S. 93 at mile marker 85 on the west shore of Flathead Lake.

Lake County Sheriff’s Office representative Karen Sargeant said an elderly man was transported via ALERT helicopter to Kalispell Regional Medical Center.
