WHITEFISH — Whitefish took care of business at home against Bigfork, recording their second straight shutout to beat the Vikings 3-0.

Brady Bergeson netted the Bulldogs only first half goal, but they were able to find a few more after the break. Walter Sobba scored on a free kick to give Whitefish some breathing room, and Quinten Joos added another in the final minutes to cap the scoring.

“We played our first complete game in Libby on Saturday,” Whitefish coach O’Brien Byrd said of the Bulldogs’ first shutout of the season.

“We were excited to have another [complete game] back to back and against our toughest competition in the conference this year. Bigfork is a good team.”

Sam Heutmaker and Jared Johnson had assists.

“Jared Johnson was relentless today,” Byrd said. “He led by example in there.”

Whitefish will host Columbia Falls under the lights of Memorial Field on Saturday for homecoming. Bigfork is off until Tuesday when they host Libby.
