Black bear continues to roam Whitefish area

The Whitefish Police Department received another black bear report. This time the bear was hanging out under some fruit trees in a Woodside Lane yard on Friday evening.


The Kalispell Police Department received a call from a woman whose dog was bitten by another dog and had to have surgery. She was attempting to get restitution from the other dog’s owner but they weren’t being cooperative.

Someone stole a bike from Eighth Street East and replaced it with a different bike.

Someone stopped by the police department to report a mail scam.

A man was ticketed for shoplifting from a First Avenue East North business.

A woman called to report a break-in at her son’s house on Sixth Avenue West North. Her son is in jail, and it appeared that someone had been in the house.

A group of kids were seen fighting outside of a North Main Street hotel on Friday night.

A couple of women found a dead cat inside of an abandoned house on Lupine Drive.

A woman was seen stealing groceries by putting them in her purse at a Third Avenue East North store early Saturday morning.

A back window of a vehicle was busted out on First Avenue West sometime Friday night.

A man found a handgun and holster in his yard along with a wheel and tire on 12th Street East on Saturday morning.

A report came in from Hawthorne Avenue that someone had driven all over the courtyard grass and torn it up.

A woman got a scare Saturday morning when she thought she saw a man peeking in her window.

A man reported that someone had tried to break into his garage at a Third Street West residence.

Two men were trespassed after panhandling on U.S. 93 North on Saturday.


The Lake County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest on possession of dangerous drugs after serving a warrant on Friday morning on Alexander Lane.

Another arrest on drug possession charges was made after a traffic stop on Montana 35 on Friday afternoon.
