Latcham paces WHS girls to title at Frenchtown run
FRENCHTOWN — The Whitefish girls, with four runners placing in the top 10, captured the team title at the Frenchtown Invitational cross country meet on Saturday.
Sarah Latcham led the WHS charge across the finish line with a second-place time of 19 minutes, 23 seconds.
Barrett Gray was fourth, 20:50, Katie Smith eighth, 22:09, and Peyton Twete ninth, 22:12.
Libby’s Krysten Mossburg was seventh, 21:58.
Whitefish posted a 35 team score. Missoula Loyola was second, 79.
Whitefish also had the individual runner-up on the boys side with Keaton Grove. He turned in a time of 17:29.
Teammates Ethan Potthoff, 17:57, and Ethan Lannaghan, 18:00, were sixth and seventh, respectively.
Jaiden Row of Frenchtown was the individual winner in 17:20.
Frenchtown turned in a team score of 43 to edge Whitefish for first place by two points.
Whitefish will compete in the Thompson Falls Invitational on Thursday.
