Absentee voting begins Monday, Oct. 6 in Flathead County for the Nov. 4 general election.

Oct. 6 also is the deadline for a resident to register to vote if they want an absentee ballot mailed to them, Flathead County Election Services Manager Monica Eisenzimer said.

“We have a little over 14,000 absentee ballots requested at this point and there are 61,342 registered voters,” she said on Friday.

The Election Department will begin mailing absentee ballots on Oct. 6 and will continue until Oct. 31.

The application for an absentee ballot is available on the county website, http://flathead.mt.gov/election, along with the “MY VOTER PAGE” where residents can check to see if they are registered to vote and if they need to update their voter registration information.
