Someone who drove a luxury-brand import car with a kayak on top received a citation for stealing a single package of fishing hooks from a U.S. 2 East business. The Flathead County Sheriff’s Office helped the business owner track down the thief. Maybe he spent all his money on the car.

Rogue chickens were reported to be trespassing on an Ezy Drive property.

The Sheriff’s Office took a report of a stolen bicycle, but the caller hung up before giving a name or phone number.

A man kept receiving texts that he was throwing an after-hours party at the U.S. 93 South business that he owns. He was unaware of any get-together, ho-down, soiree or party and called the Sheriff’s Office for extra patrols in case somebody tried to start one.

A dachsund was reported loose on Gunsite Loop but it was gone by the time animal control arrived.

Some youths threw an apparently ripened avocado at a car on Antelope Trail and flipped off the driver. There was no damage to the vehicle, but the vegetable was lost.

A burglary on Barnes Lane netted the suspects two jars filled with coins.

A U.S. 93 South business reported a possibly drunk woman driving on U.S. 93 South. The employee told the Kalispell Police Department that she drove an SUV that was cream in color. The Montana Highway Patrol found the suspect vehicle and offered another perspective: It “was more gold than cream,” according to the report.

A house was egged on Ashley Drive.

A Fourth Avenue East resident came upon a vehicle sitting in an alley. As the resident passed, the vehicle just moved around the block and parked again. This was reported to police, who located the vehicle and found a drunken driver behind the wheel. The driver was arrested for DUI.

It wasn’t just a casual stroll that led a young child in diapers to walk around Windward Way alone. A nearby security guard found the wayward child and called police, who located the child’s mother. The child apparently got outside and an automatic-locking door shut behind the tot.
