After an eight-year battle with cancer, Lynda Kay Meyers died at home in Kalispell on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Lynda was 57 years old.

She is survived by her husband, Tom Meyers; and her daughters, Julie and Rebecca. Her parents, Ken and Mary Myers, live in Richland, Washington. Her brother, Terry Myers and Nancy live in Zillah, Washington; and her sister, Jody Smith and David live in Burbank, Washington.

Lynda was born on July 25, 1957, in Los Angeles to father Kenneth Myers and mother Mary Mings Myers. Through high school, she lived in Redding, California. Upon graduation, she and her family moved to the Tri-Cities area of Washington. Lynda’s bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy was earned at the University of Washington.

She married Tom on June 23, 1979, in Kennewick, Washington. Julie and Rebecca joined the family, as adopted daughters, in unexpected ways, in 1986 and 1988, respectively. Lynda and Tom celebrated their 35th anniversary last summer.

Lynda worked in occupational therapy in several communities in Washington, beginning in Walla Walla, and last worked at Prosser Home Health in 2011. Her creativity, compassion and friendship served her well in her profession. Lynda worked part time, while home schooling Rebecca for several years.

Her community activities include AWANA Clubs and Prosser, Washington, Young Life. Hobbies included Bible study, photography and crafts. Her great gifts were hospitality and her friendly approach to everyone.

Breast cancer was diagnosed in 2007. There were three different cancer battles over the last eight years. During the last four months, family members and friends helped to care for Lynda at home and at her various appointments.

Lynda has several surviving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, who live mostly on the West Coast.

Lynda requested cremation and will not immediately be interred. Two celebrations of life will be held. The first will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 11, at Easthaven Baptist Church, Kalispell. A meal will follow at the church. A second celebration is to be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, April 25, in Prosser at Bethel-Prosser, on Gap Road. A meal will follow at the church.

The family would like to thank all the caregivers, doctors and technicians who helped with her care.
