Softball: Libby posts 2 wins; Polson 3rd at tourney

LIBBY — Devon Gallagher homered in both games and Hannah England held both Eureka and Timberlake (Idaho) to four hits as Libby posted two softball victories Saturday to improve to 5-0 on the season.

England had 12 strikeouts and Gallagher hit a solo home run to center field in the second inning of a 13-2 win over Eureka.

England had nine strikeouts and Gallagher homered to left field with a runner on in the sixth inning in a 10-0 triumph over Timberlake.

Mahalah Wedel led off the sixth inning with a single, Madisen Monigold tripled in Wedel and Gallagher followed with her round tripper to end the game on the 10-run rule.

Belgrade First Pitch Tournament

BELGRADE — Belgrade finished the two-day tournament with a 4-0 mark.

Belgrade beat Conrad in the championship game 3-0.

Polson lost to Conrad in the semifinals 2-1, but dropped Havre 6-1 in the third-place contest. Polson went 2-0 on Friday.
