Tennis: C-Falls swept by Glacier, splits with Flathead

The Columbia Falls tennis teams traveled to Flathead Valley Community College to take on both Glacier and Flathead in a pair of nonconference duals on Tuesday.

The Wolfpack swept Columbia Falls —the boys winning 8-0 and the girls, 6-1.

The Columbia Falls girls picked up a 5-2 victory over the Bravettes, while the Flathead boys won 7-0.

Emily Getts won both of her No. 1 singles matches for the Wildkats.

Boys

Columbia Falls 0

Glacier won eight consecutive matches against the Wildcats.

Ryker McIntyre was victorious in his No. 1 singles match against Trevor Wick of Columbia Falls. Wick took the first set, 6-4, but McIntyre regrouped and won the next two, 6-1, 1-0 (9).

Sam Stern and Holland Blalack, the No. 1 doubles pair, won in straight sets over Brock Denny and Cooper Wendt.

Johnny DuFour and Grant Germann also failed to lose a set, beating Caleb Fleury and Quinn Ingraham, 6-0, 6-0.

Glacier heads to the Kalispell Invitational at FVCC on Saturday at 9 a.m.

Daniel Olszewski, Kody Butts, Giueseppi Virchosi and James Flannigan each won their singles matches for Flathead

Olszewski was pushed by Columbia Falls’ Wick in the No. 1 singles match. Olszewski held off Wick in the first set, 7-5, before shutting down Wick, 6-0, in the second.

Tristan Dills and Eric West won the No. 1 doubles match, 6-2, 6-2, over the Wildcats’ Denny and Wendt.

Columbia Falls travels to Polson on Friday for a 1 p.m. dual with Dillon.

The Braves prep for the Kalispell Invitational on Saturday at 9 a.m.

The Glacier girls took all but one match from the Wildkats.

Getts, of Columbia Falls, beat Shelby Odell in the No. 1 singles match, 6-1, 6-2, but Glacier would win the other six matches.

McKenna Tinseth, tested in her No. 2 singles match, beat Molly Schmidt, 6-2, 7-5.

No. 1 doubles pair Kali Mathison and Anna Cecil defeated Samantha Gilk and Hailey Sapa, 6-1, 6-4.

No. 2 doubles was a closer contest.

Glacier’s Sarah Seynei and Amber Hamblin won both sets over the Wildkats’ Sydney Grilley and Morgan Stenger, 6-4, 7-5.

The Wildkats picked up a nonconference victory over the Bravettes, 5-2.

Getts won her No. 1 singles match over Jenna Jensen, 6-3, 6-4.

Getts’ teammates Harley Molchan and Hailey Sapa both added singles victories to the Wildkats’ tally.

Ellie Barreth was the lone singles winner for the Bravettes, defeating Schmidt, 6-4, 6-1.

Claire Bradley and Noelle Senter won the No. 1 doubles match for the Bravettes over Grilley and Stenger, 6-2, 4-6, 7-6.

The Wildkats went on to take the next three doubles matches.

Columbia Falls takes on Dillon in Polson at 1 p.m. on Friday.

The Bravettes are back in action at the Kalispell Invitational on Saturday at 9 a.m.
