Ray Rhodes 63

| April 21, 2015 7:00 PM

Ray Rhodes, 63, passed away at his home in Kalispell on Dec. 18, 2014.   His mother, father, brother and little sis, “were there to greet him to his heavenly home.”

Ray was born on Jan. 6,1951, in Kalispell, to Lester George Rhodes and Orrine (Lynch) Rhodes. He attended schools in Kalispell and graduated from Flathead County High School. He then graduated from Helena Vo-Tech in auto-mechanics.

He came back to the Flathead and worked at Anaconda Aluminum Co. for a time, later working at the Outlaw Inn and Grouse Mountain as a maintenance man.

Ray was a very gentle man. He enjoyed reading, was especially fond of history of any kind, Montana being his favorite. Comic sketching was something he liked to do, his best sketches were of the cartoon character, Rick O’Shay; he was very good at it.

The place Ray was most comfortable, was in the woods of Rhodes Draw, it being the homestead of his great-grandfather, John Rhodes. He loved to hunt and fish, especially with his brother Larry. They spent many enjoyable hours just being out there in the woods of their heritage.

Ray was preceded in death by his father Lester George, his mother Orrine, brother Larry, and a sister, Joyce Pearl.

He is survived by his loving aunts and many cousins.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 24, at Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
