Nina Mae Jones, 90

Nina Mae Jones, 90, of Kalispell, passed away April 22, 2015. 

Nina Mae was born on April 21, 1925, in Menagha, Minnesota, to Lewis and Iva (Kerney) Hills. Her parents moved to Montana when she was 3 months old. The oldest of five children, she had four brothers, Johnnie who died in infancy, Lewis Jr. deceased, Robert “Harold” and Gary. 

Nina married Harry J. Jones on Oct. 18, 1941, making their home in Kalispell and raising three children, Lois K., Johnnie J., and Jimmie L.

She loved reading, sewing, writing and had a big heart for those in need. She always opened her heart and home to many grandchildren, friends, and relatives. 

Nina was preceded in death by her infant brother Johnnie, her granddaughter Leah Rae, her son Johnnie, her parents and bother Lewis “Louie.” 

She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Harry Jones; daughter and son-in-law, Lois and Gary Van Frachen; son, Jimmie Jones; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren, with one to be born; and many brethren in Christ. Nina had been faithful and loving since she was 12 years old when she first heard the Gospel. She has been loved by all who knew and know her. She will be dearly missed. 

A visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 26, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home and funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
