Someone called police from U.S. 93 South and said they almost hit a woman who was lying in the road on Third Avenue. The caller thought it was the same transient woman who keeps coming to their door asking for items. The caller said the woman was crossing the highway and almost got hit. Police caught up with the woman who said she was just waiting to catch a Greyhound.

A different homeless female reportedly was camping in the grass behind a Third Avenue East business, harassing employees and stopping cars asking for money. The woman was trespassed from the property.

A call came in from Ninth Street East that a 3-year-old holding keys reportedly kept wandering in the street. An upset man called police after he got off the phone with a woman who found — and refused — to give back his dog saying she took it to the vet and that it was malnourished. The woman later told police she was taking it to the Humane Society and would make an animal cruelty complaint.

Someone was confined to their house and couldn’t leave for work on College Avenue after a neighbor’s “vicious” pit bull got out of the yard, chasing them back into their house.

Flames were visible from a house on Eighth Avenue East, which turned out to be a recreational fire and was eventually put out.

A man was hit by a car on Seventh Avenue East North and had blood coming out of his ear, but refused medical treatment.

Whitefish Police Department was alerted to illegal parking on Spokane Avenue — including in driving lanes — that was “causing major issues.”

Someone pulled a truck out of a ditch on East Edgewood Drive and called police because the male driver appeared to be intoxicated and his breath smelled of alcohol. When the person asked the man if he had been drinking the man replied “oh yeah.”

Someone was suspicious about a car parked at the library because it was “full of garbage.” Dispatchers advised the caller there was nothing illegal about the situation at this time.
