Whitefish police arrested a man who is accused of a violent rape that allegedly occurred Aug. 2.

Ezequiel Gonzalez, a 20-year-old Whitefish man, is facing two felony counts of sexual intercourse without consent. He was arrested on Aug. 5.

A woman told police that she and Gonzalez were in his truck that night. They drove to the parking lot of Whitefish High School, and the woman said she was nervous about what Gonzalez might do.

According to court documents, Gonzalez allegedly grabbed the woman by the neck and said that they were going to have sex.

The woman told police that he forced himself on her twice that night.

In interviews with police, Gonzalez allegedly outlined the same story from the Whitefish High School parking lot. According to court documents, he told investigators that the woman had said “no” and was crying. He allegedly admitted to taking her “to the ground” while she kicked at him.

Gonzalez could face as much as 100 years in prison for each felony count if he’s convicted. He is being held at the Flathead County Detention Center on $50,000 bail.

He is scheduled for an arraignment in Flathead County District Court on Aug. 20.
