Janita Lois Ross, 73

Janita Lois Ross, 73, passed away Aug. 1, 2015, in Kalispell.

She was born Sept. 4, 1941, in Modesto, California. She graduated from Ripon High School and went to dental college in San Diego, California.

In 1964 she moved to Montana and worked at Peter Penses Pizza Parlor in West Glacier. She soon met and fell in love with Wolford "Woody" Ross. They married in June of 1965 and recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Together they adopted their daughter Brandy in 1970.

 She was very active in her community. She was involved with Girl Scouting from the early 1970s and continuing until the 1990s. She held many responsibilities in Girl Scouting and was awarded the highest award given to adult volunteers, the Thanks Badge. She was very active and dedicated to the St. Richards Catholic Church for the majority of her life.

Lois loved children and all animals. She has been known for her amazing cake decorating skills, her award winning cooking, as well as camping, fishing and other outdoor activities.

 She is survived by her husband, Woody Ross, of Columbia Falls; her daughter, Brandy Ross, of Kalispell; her grandchildren and great grandchildren, Sophia and Skylor Strash, of Kalispell, and her children, Logan and Madalynn, Aundrea Kehoe, of Kalispell, and her, children Kieran and Kale, Zackary Ferron of Whitefish and his son Mason, and Myrsadez Klingele of Kalispell.

She is also survived by her siblings, George and Debbie Catramis of Modesto, California, Nick Catramis of Ripon, California, Lenna and Pete Gonzalez of Ripon, Tom and Debi Hamilton of Columbia Falls, Red Hamilton of Bigfork, and Snooki Fish of Kalispell. She is also survived by many neices, nephews, and extended family.

Lois is preceded in death by her father, Ronald Hamilton, step father, George Catramis, mother, Doris Catramis and brother Ronald Hamilton.

Cremation has taken place, and a memorial service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Aug. 13, 2015, at St. Richards Catholic Church in Columbia Falls.
