LETTER: Iran treaty OKs missiles that can be used for nukes? Count me out

There have been many comments relative to the Iran nuclear treaty illuminating how bad this agreement is, and I agree. Thanks to Sen. Tester I’ve have had the opportunity to review this document online where my fears were confirmed: the treaty is very general and light on inspections but very detailed about doing away with sanctions which so greatly benefits the Iranian government.

One provision glaringly stood out. Revision 2.1.11 states that the committee will “review and approve in advance, upon request by Iran, the design, development, fabrication, acquisition, or use for non-nuclear purposes multipoint explosive detonation systems suitable for a nuclear explosive device and explosive diagnostic systems suitable for the development of a nuclear explosive device as provided for in paragraph 82.2 and 82.3 of Annex I.”

Say what! This agreement specifically allows Iran to develop “multiple point explosive detonation systems (i.e., missiles) suitable for nuclear devices? This is supposed to make me feel comfortable, safe and secure? I’m sorry but it doesn’t.

Sen. Tester wanted comments relative to this treaty. This provision alone makes this treaty unacceptable. Instead of stopping Iran from procuring nuclear weapons it would appear this treaty actually promotes them getting it. I know there are provisions of this Treaty where Iran agrees not to pursue nuclear weapons but I also know that their Islamic philosophy specifically promotes deception, deceit and lying when dealing with infidels (e.g., the United States) so their promise rings hollow.

Iran, in general, and Islam, in particular, is at war with us. This treaty is just another facet of that war which they are winning. No senator who cares about the future of America would vote for this sham of an agreement. I greatly hope Sen. Tester (and Sen. Daines) greets its introduction onto the Senate floor with a resounding NO. —Mark Agather, Kalispell
