The Artemis Acres Paint Horse Guest Ranch near Kalispell is going pink this week to raise money and awareness for breast cancer.

During Pink Week, wranglers at the guest ranch will donate all of their tips to Wings Cancer Support, a local nonprofit organization that provides financial assistance to cancer patients for travel expenses and other out-of-pocket costs related to their medical treatment.

“The reason we want to do this is because almost everyone knows somebody that has been affected by cancer,” said Myndi Holbrook, a wrangler at Artemis Acres. “We are focusing on breast cancer because at the ranch we have three women wranglers.”

The staff and horses will be adorned with pink this week during horseback and wagon rides.

Artemis Acres, located five miles south of Kalispell at 610 Patrick Creek Road, offers lessons and trail rides of varying lengths covering a variety of terrain. Some of the rides end with barbecue dinners.

For more information or to schedule a trail ride, call the ranch at 755-3723 or go online to artemisacres.com.
