Man loses car 'somewhere' in Kalispell

A man asked the Kalispell Police Department to help find his car. He said that he parked it “in the city limits somewhere” but couldn’t provide a description. He eventually found it.

A woman went in the garage at a Fourth Avenue East North residence and banged on the kitchen door, according to a report. The woman in the garage wanted to be let in so she could go to sleep in the home. The homeowner, however, declined. The persistent woman returned an hour later to pound on the front door with the same request. No indication the two women knew each other.

Police assisted the Montana Highway Patrol in pursuit of a motorcycle that was speeding in the Shady Lane area. The suspect eventually got away near Meridian Road.

A Fourth Avenue East resident complained that two of the neighbor’s chickens had walked into the yard.

A parent called from outside a suspected house party to report underage drinking, including his kids. The parent was right. When an officer showed up to the Seventh Avenue East North location, he found that they were indeed drinking — root beer. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Police responded to a Third Avenue East North business to ask a woman to move along after she was reportedly harassing customers. The officer, who was apparently a soft touch, also returned a pillow to her that she previously left in jail.


Prescription pads were reported stolen from a U.S. 93 doctor’s office, according to a report to the Whitefish Police Department.

Officers took a man to the hospital who was seen sleeping — while sitting — on a Baker Avenue bench.

A fire hydrant was seen in the middle of a Spokane Avenue lane. According to the report, a good citizen moved it.


A First Street West resident told the Columbia Falls Police Department that the neighbor’s three dogs charge the fence every time someone goes outside. The neighbors characterized them as “high-spirited.”

One caller said that a kid pulled a gun on him after they exchanged middle-finger gestures on First Avenue West.


A man called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office and said that his wife “squished” his ribcage and locked him in the bedroom. He escaped the room and she gave chase down Parliament Dive.

A reported burglary of a Maple Drive property resulted in the loss of a laptop and a blue denim shirt.

A Bigfork Stage resident told deputies that she tried to give a neighbor a ride to work. They argued about his seat belt use, and the man reportedly threw her keys out the window. When she tried to pick them up, he poured beer on her.

Somebody found an abandoned horse on Ashley Lake Road.

The sheriff’s office was asked to assist when a grandmother refused to return diapers and formula to a granddaughter on Rusty Trail.

There was damage to a U.S. 2 building after someone stole a cigarette urn.

A man was seen passed out on a U.S. 2 bench and drooling. He had wet himself and was believed to be drunk, according to a witness.

A woman called the authorities because she was being locked out of a Harmony Court home where she intended to pick up her kids. As it turned out, the woman was very drunk and left for the night.

There was a report of tomato paste being smeared on a vehicle on Crestview Drive.

A stereo system was reported stolen from a vehicle that was parked at a U.S. 2 business.

One Beach Road caller thought there was something lurking in the bushes. The caller then asked to speak with a sergeant.
