To fill the spot recently vacated by Bob Nystuen, the Flathead Valley Community College Board of Trustees is seeking applicants.

The board is accepting application letters through Sept. 1. All applicants must currently live within the boundaries of the Flathead/Glacier High School District.

Nystuen, who was president of the board and had been a trustee since 2002, was recently appointed to the Board of Regents, which oversees the Montana University System.

He resigned July 27 from the FVCC board because he didn’t want to have a conflict by being a member of both boards. Members of the Board of Regents generally serve for seven years.

Nystuen’s successor on the FVCC board will serve until May 2016 and will then have the option to run for the remainder of the three-year term ending in May 2017. All subsequent terms are for three years.

Letters should be addressed to the President’s Office at FVCC. Applicants will be interviewed by the board on Sept. 14.

Interested applicants can contact Monica Settles at 756-3801.
