| August 20, 2015 8:35 PM

Albert William Dufresne, 91, of Rollins, passed away in Kalispell on Aug. 15, 2015.

He was born Sept. 18, 1923, in Missoula to William and Margaret Dufresne. He lived life to the fullest, starting at a young age working summers for his grandparents and at his uncle’s farm.

He attended Bonner Grade School and graduated from Missoula County High School. He later worked at a sawmill in Bonner and at Disbrow’s grocery store in Milltown that he eventually owed with his wife Anne.

He joined the Navy in 1943 and was honorably discharged in 1945.

Albert was active in the Lions Club and in Lutheran churches, and a volunteer firefighter both in Bonner and Rollins, even into retirement. He and Anne loved to travel. He was able to retire in 1986 to his dream home on Flathead Lake for 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and Anne — he and Anne were married for 56 years; and his wife of six years, Erma Jorgenson; and his son-in-law, Doug Ure.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Smith, whom he married in 2012, and her daughter Kathy Williams; two daughters, Carole and Dean Conklin, and Susan and Doug Ure; as well as two sons, Thomas and Linda, and David and Sheila. He has 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Oct. 10 at Eidsvold Lutheran Church near Somers.

Albert’s family would like to thank Prestige Memory Keepers staff for their exceptional, special love given to Albert during his stay. Thanks also to Home Options Hospice.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory is caring for the Dufresne family.
