A digital marketing seminar, Getting Results Online, is coming to Kalispell next week.

Two sessions will be available Sept. 3 at the Hilton Garden Inn. The seminar will be divided into several primary topics: traffic, engagement, conversion, and retention and referral.

The seminar will be hosted by WSI (We Simplify the Internet), Montana High Tech Business Alliance, Google and Hagadone Digital.

Much of the seminar will include finding a company’s target consumer through specified display advertising and effective search engine optimization.

At a Kalispell Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Wednesday, Hagadone Digital media specialist Brian Doane explained how imperative new tools are in finding the target consumer.

“Without that data, sometimes you’re just throwing spaghetti against the wall and hoping something sticks,” he said.

As shopping is becoming increasingly driven by buyers on mobile devices, he said, three important assets are web presence, digital advertising and a lead management team.

The seminar will not only explain new strategies for online companies but also host web specialists from outside the area. Specialists from companies such as Google will attend to share what strategies have prevailed in recent years as consumers are becoming more attuned to purchasing goods and services online.

“So often in Montana it can be hard to stay on top of technology and we don’t really have the local access to this information,” said Christina Henderson, executive director of the Montana High Tech Alliance said. “This event will really open the door to people that have some very important information.”

Speakers include Baltej Gill, vice president of M3 Social Mindz and mobile marketing specialist at We Simplify the Internet; Frank Fausto, a training specialist at San Francisco’s Google base; Doug Schust, chief operating officer of Hagadone Digital; and Henderson.

“It’s phenomenal to hear it right from the source about what we need to be paying attention to,” Henderson said of the opportunity to bring in speakers from global companies.

The morning session will take place from 8 a.m. to noon; the afternoon session begins at 1 p.m. and ends at 5 p.m.

A Montana High Tech Business Alliance member reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. The seminar costs $99.
