Forrest George Benz, 86

Forrest George Benz, 86, of Kalispell, passed away on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015.

Forrest was born in Hendricks, Minnesota, on March 25, 1929, to Arthur and Emma (Halseide) Benz.

Forrest served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Eleanor Clark on June 30, 1957, in St. Ignatius. For several years Forrest worked as a heavy equipment operator before making a career in small engine mechanics. He enjoyed being a Boy Scout leader for Troop 48 and square dancing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Eleanor Benz; son, Edward Benz; daughters, Elaine and Dan Badley, Wanda and Randy Hinzman, and Ramona and David Binnewies; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and his sister, Hazel Dare, of Troy.

A visitation will be held from 9 to 9:30 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with a 10 a.m. graveside committal at Glacier Memorial Gardens. An 11 a.m. celebration of life service will be held at Epworth United Methodist Church in Kalispell, following the graveside. A luncheon will be held after the service.
