LETTER: Can we talk impeachment?

| December 6, 2015 11:00 AM

It is well past time for some one (Republicans?) to bring about impeachment charges against Barack Obama.

It was said that America, specifically blacks, would riot, etc., but I think that has passed. Even it it hasn’t, the right/moral thing is impeachment. Tie him up with charges, court, and extreme bad publicity backed with fact and simple explanations of his crimes. Or wait for the gun grab and start civil war...

Can a U.S. citizen start impeachment? NO? Well, how about this: Seems like private money and organizations could make things very public. Assorted radio/TV talking heads could invite him on for interviews. The longer and weaker his excuses are for not doing interviews the more opinion might change. Plus his refusals are great fodder for further negative comments.

“What is he afraid of” type stuff... Clint Eastwood and his speaking to an empty chair (representing Obama) could have been very effective if followed up on...

America can’t wait another year without a concentrated effort to shut him down. What do you think? I fully believe it is him or the U.S.

I would include rebellion/civil disobedience as options.

Inaction on the part of representatives and citizens is unspoken, tacit approval. By now most recognize that Republicans cannot be counted upon... Defense does not “win one for the Gipper” or for anything else. It’s time to take the bull by the horns. Sacrifice/money and action speak very clearly.

Or did in the past. Anyone care to abandon American principles to just cliche status? Count me in as a citizen to dethrone Obama.

I wonder, could Congress be held responsible for lack of action and impeach the lot of them? Sitting on our, um, hands will fix nothing ... Will America commit “national suicide” like so many other nations? —Benj Scout, Bigfork
