Man thinks gun is the one stolen 18 years ago ago

A man showed up to the Flathead Sheriff’s Office to report that he had a .22 rifle stolen 18 years ago and that he always knew he would see it again. The man saw a .22 in the back of a pickup in Somers and wanted law enforcement to go check and see if it was his. The man was counseled.

 Two women on East Cottonwood Drive were counseled about ongoing issues regarding harassment and a disagreement over a horse.

Deputies took a report of a cabin break-in off Seville Lane in Coram where a solar panel system was stolen.

A woman on Highway 35 in Kalispell reported that she had been gone for a week and returned to find that her boyfriend had rammed her car and pushed it to the back of a trailer court.

A cabin and shed were found broken into off Swan River Road in Bigfork after a person reported that they saw three men in a beat up Blue Dodge pickup leaving the scene with a blowtorch and a hammer. The men were in camo and neutral brown clothing.

A man was arrested in a parking lot off U.S. 2 after he allegedly stumbled toward the highway, really drunk and high on pills.

A man on Fifth Avenue South in Hungry Horse reported that a man in his mid-30s had started his ATV without permission. The suspect left when confronted by the owner. The owner followed the suspect’s footprints and gave a deputy an address of where the suspect had gone. The deputy could see a man sleeping on the couch of the residence, but was unable to get the man to come to the door.

An officer took a shotgun from a home on U.S. 93 for safekeeping after a woman reported that her husband got really upset about something he found on her phone.


Columbia Falls Police were called after two kids allegedly finished off a bullying session with another kid by throwing a back pack up a tree so the victim could not reach the back pack. The officer could not find anyone at the scene upon arrival.


A Whitefish Police officer was unable to locate youths on Central Avenue who were allegedly breaking bottles in the street.

A gun was stolen from a vehicle on Barkley Street.


Kalispell Police fielded a call from Woodland Avenue where a daughter reported that her mother’s diamond ring had gone missing. The woman thought she knew who might have taken it.

A man on Second Avenue East North reported that his landlord had told him that he needed to get his stuff out of his rental or she was going to kick the door in and throw all of his stuff away.

A pistol was reported stolen from a camper parked on North Main Street.

A woman on First Avenue East asked that an officer explain to her 5-year-old daughter why stealing was wrong and wearing a seat belt was important. The woman was counseled.

A man tried to confront a handful of people playing loud music in the parking lot of a hotel in Kalispell. The people involved reportedly charged at the man with liquor bottles in their hands and tried to assault him. The man did not need an ambulance and stayed at the scene as his attackers continued to curse, but turned the music down. An officer counseled the parties.
