OPINION: Planned Parenthood's value depends on your perspective

In reference to Martha Stahl’s Nov. 8 guest opinion titled “Planned Parenthood is resource for Montana”:

No doubt there are some stories of how Planned Parenthood has been able to                   assist a female with her medical and emotional needs while helping her through a tough time. However, these stories are simply used to give the public the warm fuzzies about the great work being done by Planned Parenthood.

Actually, professional public relations firms are commonly brought in to train clinic personnel to sell women on abortion. The salesmanship at some of these clinics is so successful that the vast majority of women decide to have an abortion.

What about these women making such life-changing decisions? They are never allowed to look at an ultrasound, because if they heard the fetal heartbeat, or actually saw their baby in the womb, they would not be able to kill their own child. These life-saving tools, such as ultrasound, are generally offered through crisis pregnancy centers throughout our state, private organizations, usually staffed by volunteers who give of their time and their talent. Unlike Planned Parenthood, however, the one thing these folks do not do is provide for abortions.

It was mentioned more than once in Stahl’s letter that Planned Parenthood’s priority is the well-being of the patient. While caring for the patient, Planned Parenthood has prevented over 6,000 unplanned pregnancies in Montana alone. No doubt some of these 6,000 were babies in the womb. Shouldn’t the baby also be considered a patient?  Their justification is that these were unplanned pregnancies. There are many common sense ways to prevent pregnancies, but once the process begins, it is in God’s hands and we have no right to interfere. Sorry but these are humans designed in the image and likeness of God. God had plans for these gifts.

On a national level Planned Parenthood likes to play with numbers to make themselves look good in the eyes of the general public. Numbers like only 3 percent of their business is related to abortions. What they do not tell us is that the 3 percent equates to 86 percent of their income, which is over and above the $540 million we taxpayers fork over every year to this evil enterprise.

Here is how they arrive at the 3 percent figure: In their 2013/14 annual report they claim to have given service to 10.6 million females nationwide. What is not said is that they aborted/murdered 327,653 babies in that year. If you look at their website you can see how much money they collect annually. It is astronomical. The president of the national Planned Parenthood, Cecile Richards, receives over $500,000 a year and many other executives receive six-figure incomes. At the very least we need to immediately stop funding this evil enterprise with taxpayer dollars.

Ms. Stahl uses words such as compassion, knowledge, experience, care and well-being of our patients. A prerequisite for accepting the job of president and CEO of Planned Parenthood as well as other jobs within Planned Parenthood should be that the person be witness to abortions as the abortionist reaches inside the mother’s body with suction and killing instruments to suck the brains out and/or tear the body of the infant apart to the point that it is unrecognizable.

Then there is also the relatively recent revelation that Planned Parenthood also removes the body of some infants without damaging it too much in order that the baby’s organs can be salvaged and sold to the highest bidder. It’s all about the almighty dollar. Planned Parenthood is only a resource for Planned Parenthood, not Montana. Where is the compassion and care and well-being for the baby? You all have taken part, not just the abortionist.

Just imagine if Planned Parenthood were not in existence in Montana. The vast majority of the 6,000 females would have found alternative assistance at a crisis pregnancy center, and we would possibly have 6,000 more living breathing babies giving joy to families in Montana. God’s gift to the world.

Ms. Stahl challenges all Montanans to remember the real matter at hand. There is only one challenge and one real issue for us Montanans, and that is to live by the word of God and his Sixth Commandment: “Thou shalt not kill.”
