Suspect allegedly hopes to be arrested so he can see woman

A Kalispell man has been jailed on felony stalking charges after he allegedly used a secretive smartphone application to contact a woman despite a previous court order and multiple orders from law officers to leave the woman alone.

On Sept. 8, 2014, Severin Gislason, 19, was ordered by Flathead Justice Court not to have contact with a woman. The order is in effect for two years, but on June 21 the woman reported to Kalispell Police that Gislason had repeatedly sent her text messages. A detective spoke with Gislason that day and  Gislason allegedly admitted the contact and said that he wanted to get arrested so he might get to see her in court.

Gislason called the woman three times on June 19, five times on June 24 and one time on July 3.

He allegedly sent 21 text messages to the victim between June 20 and June 28. During the interview it was discovered that Gislason had downloaded a phone application that made it seem like a different number was calling the woman.

During a second interview on July 14 Gislason was told to follow the court order. At that session, he again admitted contacting the woman and allegedly reiterated that he hoped to see the victim in court. On Aug. 19 the woman reported that she had received more text messages from Gislason.

Gislason is currently serving a five-year deferred sentence for felony burglary and deceptive practices.

 The sentence was imposed in November 2014 after Gislason and another man burglarized Bigfork United Rentals, The Senior Center, Albiero Chiropractic, Waterstreet Co., Clayton’s Dentist Office and Nielsen Electric during the night of Feb. 18.

Gislason was arrested Dec. 18.
