A volunteer at a social services agency said a woman had complained about the environment at a motel. The woman apparently had troubles with fleas and sought medical attention and the caller was concerned about the woman’s living conditions.

A woman called to report a man trying to break down her front door at 12:45 a.m. Sunday. Police dispatch heard the pounding during the call. The caller went into the bathroom and locked the door. The man, whom the caller knew, allegedly broke the door and entered the home before leaving in a vehicle.

A homeowner on Third Avenue West was alarmed to see a truck sitting in her driveway for an hour. When she approached the truck, the driver took off. The woman got in her own vehicle and followed. Police advised her to stop following and wait for an officer to meet her.

Unknown suspects allegedly stole a purse containing $110 and blank checks from a baby’s stroller near U.S. 93 Sunday morning. The owner of the purse reported the incident to police after calling the appropriate credit card companies.

A female driver allegedly fled on foot after a hit-and-run on Bluestone Drive. Police arrived to find a deployed airbag in the suspect’s running car, which came to a rest after hitting two green utility boxes and another vehicle. Police later found the suspect and brought her to the station.

The Columbia Falls Police Department tried to call the registered owner of a car that was parked in a drive-through on Ninth Street West for five hours. The car was unlocked with the keys inside. Nobody answered the phone call, so police left a message.

Police received a call about a Montana Highway Patrol trooper who looked like he needed help. The trooper informed police that he was dispatching a deer and was just fine.

A security guard called the Whitefish Police Department to say a painting of a black bear had been stolen from a Spokane Avenue business. A bus driver told the guard that he knew the suspects and where they were staying. Police searched the area for someone matching the suspects’ description.

A driver reported a truck following closely behind and the driver using “hand gestures.” The driver gave a description of the vehicle and driver to police.
