Dispatchers field another 'Odd' call

A Marion woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office on Monday reporting that her car had been stolen by a man named Odd. She said that Odd had been staying with her and she believed he took the vehicle down to the bar. Before hanging up, the woman added, “I’ve paid for 911 for 10 years and never gotten any help from you people.”

A man reported he left his vehicle parked at a Kalispell service shop he was working at and someone stole his license plates and the Mercedes emblem off of the car.

A Columbia Falls woman was almost the victim of Internet fraud after receiving a $1,700 check in the mail for a weight set she listed on Craigslist for $500. Included with the check were instructions to cash it and return the balance. She shredded it instead. (Rule of thumb: When someone you don’t know offers you their “money,” it usually means they are really trying to get yours.)

A snow blower was stolen from Church Drive over the weekend and pawned at a local shop, but the suspect was caught on video.

An unplowed road caused a little road-rage incident Monday afternoon on Lupfer Road in Whitefish. People living on that street and a log truck driver both pulled out at the same time and ended up arguing in the street.

Someone reported a woman as either being “stoned or drunk” after she walked into the caller’s mirror as he was stopped at a red light while she walked across North Main Street on Monday.

Officers in Kalispell intervened after a 19-year-old man called and texted another man saying he’d be over in 15 minutes to beat him up.

A customer at a Columbia Falls business on U.S. 2 West found a .357 revolver in the parking lot Monday evening. The weapon turned out to have been reported stolen earlier in Columbia Falls and it was returned to the proper owner.

Whitefish Police were called to a medical facility Monday morning on Hospital Way when a man was “causing a scene” there. The man ended up leaving on his own, so police didn’t have to intervene.

Columbia Falls Police assisted a man who got lost while trying to find his way home on Second Street West.

A branch on a power line caused a spark and a small flame Tuesday morning on North Main Street, according to Kalispell Police.

A man called police after witnessing a “known heroin dealer” make a trade with a man in another vehicle Tuesday.

A man on Liberty Street said that his sister broke into his house and stole some of his wife’s clothes.

Police were called Monday when a woman was standing in the middle of the street, refusing to let the city do its snow removal. An officer lectured the woman, telling her that “there is no special snow removal list with her name on it.”

A patient was caught stealing needles from a clinic Monday. The woman said that they were for her friends who are drug users. She was escorted off of the property by police and banned from all county public health buildings.

Two people took off on a bar tab Monday night on Woodland Park Drive.

Two women were cited for shoplifting early Tuesday morning after stealing doughnuts and water from a Third Avenue East North store.
