Art Danner, left, and Ethan Cottonwood help install the new sculpture at Valley Bank in downtown Kalispell on Wednesday, January 7. The sculpture was created by Kalispell artists Kay Lynn and Jani Dryden. According to Dan Hensley, vice president of Valley Bank, they wanted a figure that would fit in with the other two figurines on Main Street, which were also created by Lynn. According to Hensley the bank was looking for something that would give them a little bit more visibility from Main Street. Hensley's original concept was a thief possibly perched on the roof. The idea for the dog came about as he discussed his idea with Lynn. They also added the rifle to bring attention to the collection of Winchester Rifles housed at the bank.
