Republicans, you better take heed!

Now that the Republicans have control of the Senate and House, they had better do something other than talk for two years. What got them elected was the promise to do the following:

Get rid of Obamacare.

Fix immigration problems. That doesn’t mean amnesty but does mean securing our borders.

Reciprocal gun carry permits for all states.

Reduce the size of the federal government.

President Eisenhower initiated the Interstate Highway Program but now the highways are falling apart because the federal government is using the gas tax money that was to pay for this, to pay for parks, golf courses, inter-city transportation, etc. The original bill was for interstate highways; let’s stop funding for all other purposes.

Get the XL pipeline going as soon as possible.

Reduce business taxes and regulations to create more jobs.

We need a major reduction in welfare programs. All these programs do is keep minorities on welfare so they can vote Democrat.

Pass laws that will get the loggers and miners back to work.

They must at least get these bills on Obama’s desk so that two years from now Democrats won’t be able to say the Republicans didn’t do anything.

What I would like to see above all else is a bill making environmentalists pay for their own lawsuits and any damage they do to industry. (Fat chance!) —Richard J. Reed, Kila
