Man gets 30 years for prescription theft

 HELENA (AP) — A Helena man who was found guilty of breaking into a woman’s house, binding her with duct tape and stealing her prescription medication has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

 District Judge Jeffrey Sherlock sentenced 23-year-old Andrew Segura on Thursday to 60 years in prison with 30 suspended. Segura was convicted in October of burglary, robbery and criminal possession of dangerous drugs for the June 2012 break-in.

Prosecutors said Segura bound the woman’s wrists and wrapped duct tape around her head and mouth and threatened to kill her if she didn’t tell him where she kept her prescription drugs. He was convicted of taking a strong prescription pain patch and a bottle of muscle relaxants.

Segura received a 10-year suspended sentence Thursday in a separate felony theft case.
